What Is Research Administration?

Research administration is made up of all the roles and responsibilities that support a research activity.

One of the best definitions comes from CASRAI (the Consortia Advancing Standards in Research Administration Information ):

"Research administration is the institutional function that manages the funding, compliance, and reporting infrastructure surrounding externally funded research - distinct from the scientific work itself."
